SURAT TRADE AND MERCANTILE LIMITED (formerly known as SURAT TEXTILE MILLS LIMITED)
was
originally incorporated under the name and style of The Surat Textile Mills Limited on November 29,
1945 under the Companies Act, 1913. The name of the Company was changed to Garden All Cotton
Limited with effect from July 21, 1993. Further, the name of the Company was changed to Garden
Cottons and Yarns Ltd. with effect from October 5, 1993. The name of the Company was further
changed to Surat Textile Mills Limited with effect from March 11, 1997.
The management of the Company vests in the Board comprising professionals and persons with
extensive technical, commercial and administrative experience. The Board is headed by Shri Alok P.
Shah Managing Director of the Company. The day-to-day operations of the Company are looked
after by Managing/Wholetime Directors supported by a well experienced and qualified professional
executives.
